ABOUTBLACK LIZARDS

The Black Lizards, a musical ensemble born in Montreal in 2007, stem from the creative mind of Jon Manitouabe8ich (also called "Mucci"). A former member of various punk bands and collaborator with several local groups, Jon decides to form his own band, drawing inspiration from the style of his friends in Bran Van 3000. His ambition: to bring together musicians, creators, and artists from diverse backgrounds to create eclectic musical projects.

The Black Lizards navigate between electronic and acoustic genres, refusing to be confined to a specific musical style. The goal is to create based on the moment's inspiration, without specific attachments or labels. Their repertoire spans from reggae to rock, from house music to country, from classical to hip-hop, and even to trip-hop.

NeilO'Connor

NeilO'Connor

Born in Coventry, U.K., my musical career began with the late 1970s "Punk/New Wave" movement, when my band "The Flys" released the EP "Bunch of Fives." Extensive touring with "The Buzzcocks" led to our signing with E.M.I. in 1978, releasing three albums.

After internal conflicts broke up the band, I joined my sister Hazel O'Connor, working as her musical director and co-producing her fourth album. In 1989, I began working in Montreal, producing and collaborating with various artists and bands.
